JFK and Jackie frequently dined in Booth #3. On Wednesday, June 24th, 1953, have just returned from covering the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II for the Washington Times Herald, Jacqueline Bouvier accepted John Kennedy�s proposal of marriage. The next day customer and staff excitedly talked about the �that nice young Kennedy congressman� proposing to his girlfriend the night before in their booth. Since that day, Booth # 3 has been known as the �Proposal Booth�! |
